INTRODUCTION : Mental health and substance abuse social workers help out teens that abuse drugs, tobacco or alcohol. You would then have to study clinical social worker as your major. They treat mental, behavioral, and emotional issues. I personally love giving out advice and communicating. I like to help out people. I’m also very interested in helping out teens in risk of drug addictions. To be able to help them stop and make better decisions. I’m creative so I would find ways and positive activities to help them out.
DAILY DUTIES & WORK ENVIRONMENT :A Social worker’s whole day isn't always sitting at a desk. They may be interviewing clients, writing reports, or visiting homes; prisons, and schools. Their main job is to help teens with drug abuse. They work about 40 hours weekly. There is many workplaces for social workers. For example; hospitals, clinics, community mental health clinics, schools, college, universities, and substance abuse clinics. Their salary is about $19.97 hourly, but it could have changed now. Although it does require more training for a higher position. The lowest position requires a bachelors degree and a license. The good part of this job is being able to help kids and being able to connect with them and their families. Sometimes you may not be able to help the way you wanted. After all it's a great job and it's worth it in the end.
